When this property was purchased, the front yard was landscaped with lawn and one Native Frangipani, offering little to native birds, lizards or insects that lived in this area. Hence, visits by wildlife were almost non-existent as it provided minimal food or shelter.
Transforming this yard into a destination point for birdlife and native insects was achieved by planting an array of native plants, including groundcovers, low shrubs, and larger shrubs. The flowers that these plants produced provided wonderful colour throughout the year, the different leaf shapes and textures provide a wonderful feeling of nature, the plants provided shelter and habitat and nature obliged by regularly visiting this garden.
